The Research Groups conduct research and development in exact co-ordination with the needs of the economy, a fact that guarantees rapid realization in industry as well as society. The research areas at Hagenberg are Information and Communication Systems, Quality of Life for the Elderly, Media and Knowledge Technologies and Software Technology and Applications.

Embedded Systems Research Group (ESRG)
The Embedded Systems Laboratory Hagenberg stands for application-focused research in the field of intelligent hardware/software systems. We see ourselves as a link between scientific research and application-oriented product development. By transforming the latest scientific results, technologies, and concepts to applied research, we enable our industrial partners to achieve technological advantages with low risk on their side.
Our research work is funded by European and Austrian agencies as well as by contracted research from innovative companies. Technologically, we focus on the topics Embedded Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communication, and Electronic Design Automation.
The Embedded Systems Laboratory is linked to the Departments of Hardware/Software Design (HSD) and Embedded Systems Design (ESD) of the University of Applied Sciences of Upper Austria with 8 chairs, located in Hagenberg, Upper Austria.
